Being a Bum :)
27 November 2010 - Manila, Philippines
Most summer holidays I spend it back home in the Philippines, and there's probably nothing better to do and bum around and spend good times with my good friends here.
Now there's only a month left I feel like times passing by even quicker, but then I figured sometimes it's not how long I'm on holidays for but how and who I spend it with - I can honestly say I'm enjoying every bit of it. :)
One more month.. Back to reality of studying, working, responsibilities and oh, flying :)

Another day has gone past, and I end it with yet another night of endless facebook / msn chats and browsing through pictures of the Cirrus. it's just too damn sexy. And also em' Cathay 747s.
The reason why I wanted to start this blog coz I wanted to share my experiences as a student pilot and studying aviation in Uni at the same time. Sorta keep a virtual diary for myself as well.
I do my training down at Adelaide Flight Training Centre and I study at University of South Australia, all in the Parafield / Mawson Lakes area.
I'd probably start with my last flying experience.
I flew with a friend that I met from this first aid course I did with Uni, we were talking about flying and he just asked me I wanted to go on a flight with him, since I wasn't doing anything anyway, I went for it; even if I only knew the guy for an hour or so. (He already had his PPL (Private Pilot License) though so I wasn't scared or anything.) So then we drove to Parafield, and I was excited coz he told me we might be able to fly in a Cirrus; but someone else hired it out so we flew in a Diamond instead.

The whole flying experience was great in general; did circuits around the training area; touch-and-gos; from what I remember it was a fairly windy day so we had a bit of turbulence. but the view was amazing, we went on the other side of Adelaide so I could actually see the whole view of the city from where I was sitting. Pity I only had my phone then so I just took some shots using my phone. Although towards the end I did get a bit dizzy, which is something I have to work on. Hopefully as I fly more I would get over my air sickness. But the thrill of flying just excites me, and I wouldn't give it up.
Some other pictures I took during the flight:

I find it really cool that I'm actually getting there; where I want to be. I'm actually doing something about my dream of being a pilot; and now I'm meeting a lot of people who are doing and thriving for the same thing. And I know now for certain that this is something I want to do - no matter how hard it gets - I will get there :) (and flying that sexy cirrus... ooh, lol)
